Fishing for striped bass on the Kennebec River spring 2025

I guide fishing trips on the fresh water sections of the kennebec river, each spring striped bass make the way up river to feed on alewives and spawn. During this time large striped bass can be caught. We use large bait fish flys or large bait fish lures on a spin rod. On these trips we can also catch American shad, these shad are best targeted with a fly rod with sinking line and small flys swung in the current.
