Summer Time Fishing on the Androscoggin River

The Androscoggin river in western Maine is a great Smallmouth bass fishing during the summer months. This year we have had low water and warm weather, water temps have been 79-83 degrees depending on the day. The fishing has been consistent, we have still been able to find fish, and get to areas that others do not often go. We have been catching bass on a variety of flys including craw fish, game changers, wiggle minnows, swinging D, Mouse, poppers, sliders and more. A floating line and weighted fly, or a sinking line and a larger swimming or articulated fly is normally the choice tactic.
