Removing trires from the Androscoggin river
In the past the Androscoggin river was very polluted and disrespected, from the 1930s-1980s people threw there old tires in the river, and now the river is very clean and full of wildlife, mostly the old trash that is left is the tires, i have been volunteering my time after guiding and grabbing some tires off the bottom of the river, through the summer i collected 214 tires out of the river in my volunteer time. I see a need to rremove many more tires and there is so much work that we can not expect a volunteer to do this job completely. I am looking for funds to continue this project and do a full job including getting the tires in the challenging location, stuck in the mud and up to 20’ down, equipment is needed to remove these deep tires and the large tires, on average $8 per tire should be a fair labor rate, if you want to help support this river clean up please help through the Go Fund me i created for this.
